In British Columbia, Canada, you have to produce a birth
certificate/citizenship and SIN to get your drivers license. This is
also required if you are transferring from an out of province license to
a B.C. license. You are then given a temporary license and if all checks
out you receive your photo license in the mail. Yet they still find
false (forged/bought) motor vehicle operator permits. This was suppose
to stop all that and it has not. Their claim was that these measures
would also make car theft easier to control. It does not matter what
phony reason is given, the end result is still the same, being
investigated for no reason at all.
