I did ours using the Gimp to create the logo, which I then imported into
xfig to add the text as the Postscript text is much better looking than the
bitmap stuff created by the Gimp.

Once I had what I wanted in xfig, it was simple to print it to a Postscript
file, convert that to PDF, and e-mail it to the printer.
