samba client-side tutorial

Same question here. I can find tons of stuff about letting Windows boxes
access SAMBA shares. But getting a Linux box to join a Windows domain as
a client it less obvious. I do not mean the simple smbmount stuff. I
mean joining the domain so I get the REAL domain controller and not some
brain dead W95 box on my subnet that offers to do the same and knows
nothing. Things like that.
