OpenOffice.org on SuSE 9.3 Pro crashing.

I finally gave up on the SuSE version today after being unable to
create data sources using jdbc to connect to mysql and postgresql
databases from the spread sheet application.  I loaded the 1.1.4
stable version, installed it under the default /usr/local, and it
seems to work OK.
