DVD based comm logging recorder question

We operate a Racal Mirra logging recorder which records both telephone and
radio traffic. The recorder interface is a proprietary Windows application
which allows monitoring of active traffic and playback of traffic recorded in
real time to a DVD (as .wav files). The application also provides admin
access to the set up and playback functions via an assigned IP address. I've
googled fairly extensively but found nothing obvious. I can ping the device
across the network, but no luck on telneting into it. Any thoughts on a
linux alternative route into such a device?
