LibraNet & Ubuntu

I broke in on Caldera 1.3 and stayed with 'em 'til e Desktop 2.4. For
me they were real easy and intuitive. When they went belly up I tried
RH 7.0, 7.3, 9.0 the Suse 9.0 and finally had my Grandson download
LibraNet 2.8.1 for me. I really liked it. It seemed to be more as eD2.4
than anything else I tried.
Then I got some of the first free Ubuntu disks, and sorta liked it, but
while I was at my daughter's place and downloaded the Ubuntu distro with
the 2.6.10 kernel. It is really neat for a klutz. Recognizes my
camera, burns cds and dvds (not sure about plurals in abbreviations,
know it's is it is, and it's can be possesive?).
I don't know if it's the 2.6 kernel or what, but it works well
