Just a recap... the ipodlinux kernel does not support redirection and the 4g 
will not connect up via usb or firewire while in linux. They are features for 
a future time.... There's a text input app in a companion gui project named 
viPodzilla that can be used i place of a keyboard... but wow is it 
cumbersome....
