OO beta and MS ttf fonts

Anyone using the OpenOffice beta on an RH (RHEL4 FC3 CetOS etc.) system?

I wanted to copy my windows ttf fonts to a directory and use them
under OO. I did all the usual font installation stuff (ttfmkdir,
mkfontdir, fc-cache, etc.), but when I added the fonts to OO, they are
all broken.

I haven't found much in Google.

I don't know whether this is an OO beta problem or some failing in
installing the fonts.
