No luck there. The command still just hangs.
Maybe I should clarify what exactly I'm doing in this attempt:
1) turn-on laptop
2) insert disk 1 of FC3
3) at the FC3 boot option I type: linux rescue
4) choose keyboard language as US/English
5) choose to setup the NIC using DHCP (which works)
6) choose to mount any linux partition that is found
7) at the "sh-3.00#" prompt, type "chroot /mnt/sysimage"
8) at the "sh-3.00#" prompt, type "grub-install --no-floppy /dev/hda"
9) after 10 sec to a minute I give up and break out with CTRL-Z then
kill the two processes running (grub-install and grub)
10) remove /tmp/grub* files
Any other thoughts?
Brad.
