It's certainly possible, but the P4's built-in heat sensor is supposed to
prevent that. Once the temp rises high enough to cause damage, the CPU
shuts down altogether.

There's a force option, but for the life of me I can't recall exactly how it
goes. I should say that last time I used it I broke some rather necessary
bits, so I'd be careful of it.
