RSivernell:~ # find / -name "libxfce.so"
/opt/gnome/lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libxfce.so   original
/usr/lib/libxfce.so      symlink to the above, added this morn to see if this helps.
but I have removed that.
