This is especially unique on ubuntu, where there is no root password 
unless you enable it. The sudo password is the first user password, 
entered during the install process. So if you enter "sudo somecommand" 
you will be asked for the password of the initial user. If you have 
added other users, their passwords will not, of course, work.
