Knoppix file size limit?

At the "Boot:" prompt F3 brought up a list that offered the 
"Experimental Linux 2.6 kernel." Later a 'uname -r' showed it to be 
running 2.6.9 IIRC. I'm dinking with a SimplyMEPIS disk at the moment so 
I can't double-check.
