Tao Linux and fonts on Fedora

Some LCD monitors (like my Belinea 10 17 15) are arranging their RGB 
sub-pixels in a vertical order. I only got sub-pixel hinting working in 
a satisfactory way until I did a respective setting in the KDE control 
center (see under Appearance & Themes | Fonts | Use anti-aliasing for 
fonts | configure ...).
BTW, there is a little X application called xmag, working like a 
magnifying glass, with which you may check how fonts are displayed on 
the screen.
