| Their gnome implementation is the best I've seen.

| Does kde come on the disk, or did you apt-get it?
|
No, I got it through Synaptic (the apt-get GUI)
I agree, theirs is the best Gnome impl I've seen.

| Is this a kde specific command? I don't know it.
gg: is like fm: which is like sf: which all use KDE's enhanced Web
Searching.
~ gg: searches Google for whatever you type after it
~ fm: searches Freshmeat for whatever you type after it
~ sf: searches SourceForge for whatever you type after it.

there are many others, but these are the defaults I use the most (plus
the onces I made myself for the particular networks I visit)

| There are some applets you can add using a right click on the toolbar.
|
I'll be checking them out. I have acquired the taste for KDE's extra
toolbars and applets. I'll have to see what Gnome does.

| I use the mouse in ubuntu like in other distros, highlight then middle

Pretty much, but Ubuntu doesn't seem to use the Highlight/MiddleClick
for C/P. Only Ctrl-V/C/X

| Excellent, and if you use sound effects, theirs are interesting. bongo
| drums, etc.

I love that! Very subtle but great!
