Hi All,

The strangest thing happened to me yesterday -- I installed Tao Linux
(http://taolinux.org) to try to avoid having to deal with the kernel
2.6.10 problem that Lonni raised, and I was amazed to find that the
fonts displayed correctly from a plain vanilla install ! This is amazing
to me because I have never been able to get fonts displayed nicely on
any of my previous Fedora installs (at least not without a LOT of
tweaking).

Has anyone else experienced font strangeness ? I'm using a VIewsonic
VE155 LCD monitor.

Tao Linux actually runs an older kernel (2.4.27, I think), and I found
that I had to compile wireless support instead of just installing an RPM
package. It's a RHEL fork, which seems to run pretty well, though no
support for JFS, ReiserFS or XFS at install time.
