It's been a couple of years, but I did make this work once. The
implementation was awful, but seemed to work once up and running. Note
that FPSE for non-windows platforms is EOL in 2006, so you may be able
to use that to shift your customer (or at least get them to think about
it). The ready-to-run version was the only one that worked for me, the
one MS ships with its CD's is worthless. It was built circa RH 7.x or
so. Also, I found their distro requirements to be pretty set in stone.
Getting it to work outside the environment they compiled it for was very
difficult. You may have some luck with compat libs, but I wouldn't put
too much stock in them. Like all other MS interop tools, this one was
designed as a migration tool, not something they intended to maintain.
