2.6 kernel fan control

Great!  That alone might be enough to move me to that kernel.  I have 
a dual boot system (Linux/XP) and XP has this feature - that is, when 
I boot into XP, the fan runs only as needed.  As you remark, a nice 
sound feature.  I have several XP only machines and they have been 
running in this fashion since the release of the XP system, with no 
apparent problems.  If it's now in the Linux kernel, its a feature 
I've long awaited.
