/etc/hosts was one of the first files I edited to reflect the changes. 
ifconfig shows all the right stuff, /etc/cups/client.conf, printer.conf 
et al have  been checked and double checked.  /etc/printcap  is ok I 
thought I'd covered every conf file related to cups but the wrong ip 
keeps coming up. I must have a ghost in that dang machine. I'm 
definitely at a loss here. I've checked all the inet files and they are 
correct else ifconfig would be incorrect. I've been at this too long, 
I'll leave it for now and tackle it again this eve. Thanks for the 
reply, every bit helps.
