Ok, no bubbles burst. OpenSource WROX! :)

Were these recent features or am I just out of it on the feature-list?
I will probably still sing Konqueror's praises, although that doesn't
mean that I appreciate Mozilla any less. In fact, the new Search
functionality of Firefox has won me over anyway. It is quite helpful to
have a "docked" search bar instead of the randomly-floating beast that
nearly all GUI apps have used over the years. As I use Thunderbird for
email I get to use both browsers. The default key-sequences are
different, but both browsers are quite good. The key-sequences mirror
the different "camps" they come out of. Mozilla's are like those of
most Gnome apps (eg. Gnome Terminal: Ctrl-T and Ctrl-PgUP/PgDn) and
Konqueror of course mirrors other KDE apps (eg. Konsole: Ctrl-Shift-N,
etc...)

Since I do use KDE, I have grown accustomed to the KDE IO_Slaves which
allow a great deal of interaction with foreign data as if it were local.
~ (plus it just integrages so nicely) For instance, Alt-F2 brings up the
equivalent to a Windows "Start->Run", type in my URL and the resource
pops up in Konqueror. Click on a link which prompts me to download a
file. Destination? fish://myserver/home/matt/Documents/
KGET prompts me for my SSH username and password for "myserver" and then
downloads the file storing it on my server through the SSH protocol
(basically SCP). I could also have done an "smb://myserver/share" or
"ftp://myserver/directory" etc... and Konqueror would have placed it
wherever.

Perhaps Gnome and Mozilla have similar functionality. If so, I'll sing
their praises as well. This type of technology is just very good for
the Linux world in general. I'm not a biggot, just a guy with
preferences. For DE's mine include a "K".

| Hate to burst a bubble, but Mozilla and Firefox do the same, as does the
| lowly epiphany browser. In particular those who don't use kde, and
| therefore have to wait for konquerer to fire up, might prefer something
| else.
