Gentoo: Kernel problems remain.

I first did an emerge unmerge gentoo-dev-sources, then emerge
gentoo-dev-sources (I want a 2.6 kernel with the Gentoo patches).
Then copied a config from my Sorcerer's box (which I had already
painstakenly configured as I wanted), adjusted the drivers appropriately
and I'm running on my own kernel. I'm not sure if genkernel dorked with
the sources or just modified my config in some way, but I needed to
unpooch something and it's done.

|
| In Gentoo-speak, you do:
|
| emerge vanilla-sources
|
| Then, go to /usr/src/linux and proceed as usual. Update
| /etc/modules.conf and /etc/modules.autoload as needed.
|
| By doing it this way, Gentoo can keep you informed of new kernel
| releases via the emerge mechanism.
|
| The end result is identical. And the steps familiar.
