I am in the non-genkernel camp. Partly because I use the win4lin-sources
method. Just remember that Gentoo happily allows you to emerge a vanilla
kernel (as in what you get from kernel.org) and then build as you would
anywhere. Genkernel is an optional method. I would surely not start with
it.
