I tend to view United Linux as SCO's exit strategy, intentional or not.

Effectively, UL being SuSE-based was a way for us COL freaks to find
something that was still "COL" but was SuSE.  When SCO turned
completely evil to the whole world (as opposed to simply abusing their
customer base), SuSE was a no-brainer.  I had already learned it and
began to appreciate it.  When SuSE 8.2 hit and their disto simply was
exceptional, we were all set.  I have no interest in another RPM-based
distro.  My playing with other distros is more about breadth of
knowledge than discontentment.
