I hadn't thought of that one, although I have used a server as an alarm
clock. I used to have our dialup uucp server call our home phone every
morning at 5:45 (which really saved our butts when we had an 06:30 flight
from Seatac and my wife had set the regular clock for 16:30 instead of
04:30 :-).

I'm also running very current software on a couple of eDesktop 2.4 systems
using the OpenPKG package management system including the latest versions
of gcc, postgresql, mysql, berkely DB, ...

``We maintain that the very foundation of our way of life is what we call
free enterprise,'' said Cash McCall, "but when one of our citizens
show enough free enterprise to pile up a little of that profit, we do
our best to make him feel that he ought to be ashamed of himself."
