If there is a Linux box on the way out (eg. firewall, router, or just
sniffing) ntop is your friend.
ntop not only captures but shows statistics via a web interface. Very
nice stuff. I've done it a lot.
NTOP will also accept NetFlows from Cisco (and other) gear. Talk to
your router-jockies about that one.

| machine's bandwidth... Also the web-based Cacti has a nice interface to
