I think VPN does two things:
- make your remote network(s) locally : for example, you travel and you can
access to your office network as if you were in your office.
- encrypt the information exchanged between your local network and your
remote network.
VPN makes your local network/pc a part of the remote network or vice versa.
VNC allows you access to your remote desktop from your local PC. Your local
PC is not a part of the remote network.
