Swap in RAID1?

So let's say I have 2 swap partitions (one on each drive) and both are in use 
to some extent. One of them dies and the system can't retrieve whatever it had 
swapped out to it. Isn't it going to crash?

(I'm wanting to learn here and don't know the right answer. But I have a 
server that I need to get set up *right*.)
