All
I have gotten an old Toshiba CDS 420 laptop for a special little project. I
have taken the hd out and put Linux on it it, Suse 9.2. On the desktop the drive
boots up ro the consol as required, but on the laptop after the initrd stuff is
completed the drive and hardware are found and the partitions are reconized
properly. But when the command to start /dev/hda3 at boot it times out and informs
me that the drive could not be found. then starts /bin/sh. Any ideas as how or
what may be wrong & what I might do next? All pins have to be correct since
/dev/hda1 is found and linux is uncompressed.
cheers
