My border router routes for several C blocks. I silently drop the
following ports:
42, 135,137,138,139,445,1433,1434.
Recognize the list? Yep, all M$ ports.
Approx every 6 hours I zero my iptables counters because when I do
`iptables -L -nv` everything is so far offset if I don't the rules
don't line up nicely. These ports have tens of thousands of hits
every few hours. It's rare you can run a tcpdump on this router for
more than about 15 seconds without seeing this virus traffic (and that
obviously doesn't include e-mail viruses).
