I liked both of them, but I guess it depends on whether you are a fan of any
of the books. They changed Narnia less, but then it's an easier thing to
replicate on-screen (much shorter and less complex). Narnia is seriously
effects-dependent (not that they really had a choice) and there are a few
spots where it looked like those new 3D Coke commercials. They spent a lot
of time on the battle scenes, though, and those are really pretty cool. I
especially liked the Centaur who never seemed to run out of swords. The only
really major change I noted was that the directors were kinder to Edmund than
Lewis was.
The new HP was good, better than Azkaban I thought. Substantial changes had
to be made in order to fit it all in, but if you aren't a regular Rowling
reader then that's not going to bother you. It's a bit scarier than the
others, so if your children are sensitive to that sort of thing stick with
Narnia. I wouldn't take a child under 10 to Goblet without serious
consideration. I didn't have any trouble staying awake, but then I like
fantasy in general and HP in particular so that's to be expected.
In short, both good but edge to Narnia because it's less likely to disturb
small children (Aslan's death notwithstanding - after all it isn't permanent)
and because it's not part 4 in a series you haven't seen the rest of.
