Linux: Dropping Support for GCC 2.95

Gentoo, of course, has declared gcc4 stable, and even my Ubuntu system
has gcc4. Not that I need a compiler much any more now that I'm no
longer running Gentoo. CentOS/RH4 is, of course, still the old maid,
and will surely remain so.
