Cold weather & printers

Just for grins I looked up the operating evironment for a HP Laserjet
4240 and the specs say:

Environmental condition Printing 10? to 32?C (50? to 90?F)
Storage/standby Temperature (printer and print cartridge) 0? to 35?C
(32? to 95?F)

I would look at the specs for your printer and it looks like they are
operating out of spec. Plus if the temperature varies drastically the
expansion and contraction of components are probably creating havoc.
I'd have them do something about the environment or tell them that
they cannot expect support for the printers.
