Caldera lpr question

Hi;
Still running Caldera on one partition with LPRng.
I have two printer names, an lp1 and lp2.   So I have two print spools 
/var/spool/lpd/lp1 and /var/spool/lpd/lp2 and these printer names are 
set up in /etc/printcap.  The same generic HP Deskjet printfilter (line 
for line) appears in both spools.

OK so far.
But I can set up the printers differently using COAS, for example, 
different paper sizes.  When I do this, there is NO change in 
/etc/printcap.  Yet the printer names use the paper I've selected.

Where is the file that contains the printer information for the named 
printers (paper, ink, blah blah)?
