But if you happen to know, I'd like to know the number.  For example, in 
California (essentially a desert) we pour a lot of water into the sand 
to grow rice and cotton.  So it would be useful to have an equivalent 
replacement value if that water were to be generated by desalinization. 
  And some places in CA have considered building such things to augment 
weak local water supplies (Santa Barbara on the coast I believe 
considered such a device).
