Rick,
We are not short of drinking water as YET! However the warning signs
have been around for a long time and as usual been ignored. We know very
well that global warming is 'an actuality', as we have had less and less
of a 'winter' and as you well know we do not have, in queensland
anything you might bsay was Winter. The temps have been up for sometime,
the Summer temps are definitely up as the humidity is down in summer,
humidity up in the cooler months. The predictios in the media are all
over the plce, know one knows whats in store. The bets are hot and
hotter plus little or no rain once again.

Oil, yep its expensive, gas is about $1.65US a litre which is approx
$6.24US gallon. So how will you and say the Brits afford central heating
in the coming winter with the prices going up all the time. At least we
do not need heating at all, just air-con :)

So drinking water is not a major concern at the present time with dams
at 30%+, BUT and its a big but, how long will the water last us if we do
not get rain in sufficient quantity.

Make no mistake it has rained in the past year, but not in sufficient
quantity to make an impression on the dams, and in many cases not in the
catchment areas. Of course when we get some light rain on a day or two
people say ok we can go wild and use more, that's why we are in trouble.
People only think of themselves, but they are being fined now.
