Mike,

Have you tried searching the pygtk Archives?

http://www.daa.com.au/pipermail/pygtk/

I suspect that you might still have some configuration files from an earlier 
version, or some links, still floating around. You might try

	dpkg -l '*pygtk*'

and see what turns up.
