My Compaq Presario has three DIMM slots, but can only recognize 128 MB
sticks.
PC133 RAM will probably work as long as it is low density.
I've got 384 MB (3 x 128 PC100) in the souped up Presario and it runs
Libranet 2.8.1 with gusto.
I can't say the same for SuSE 9.1 though, which is very sluggish with
KDE.
I've checked free and see no swap usage.

Going OT (or new thread): my original objective in souping up the
Presario was to get a silent (or as close to it) desktop box.
I want silence and small real estate requirements for my next box. Any
opinions/recommendations regarding the little Shuttle box and its ilk?
