I can't find the exact quote, but gmail has stated up front that only
certain browsers work, and opera and konquerer were not on the list,
but enabling other browsers is on the list of improvements frequently
requested by users.

A little bit of <OT> humor about gmail. As soon as the first "like an
invite?" email appeared on the gentoo-user list,  a purist fired off
an email entitled "Gmail: Let's keep it off this list", but like test
emails on linux-users, such things have a life of their own. The
"Gmail: Let's keep it off this list" thread is now up to about 62
posts over the past three weeks, and almost none of the respondents
have expressed any disinterest in gmal.
