A change of scene. Hou about a linux question?

I run my mail server on an e-smith (Mitel networks) server. It's based
on RedHat linux.

I've re-installed the software recently because the upgrade wouldn't
work. I installed to a new disk, and have the old disk in the server,
also. To get my files from the old disk, I

mount /dev/hdc1 /mnt/hdc1
mount /dev/hdc6 /mnt/hdc6

Here is the problem. During the boot process, the system is, for some
reason, mounting /dev/hdc6 on /
I've looked around and don't see any reason this is happening. There
is nothing in /etc/fstab. /etc/grub.conf shows root=/dev/hda3

I don't know how to run grub, so maybe the issue is there.

Any thoughts? What other information would be useful to help debug this?

~Rick
