Linspire add-ons

IIRC, Linspire no longer runs as root by default, hasn't since shortly after 
the original stink about that was published. Not that I've actually USED 
Linspire...

I have also read that using apt and all the normal Debian repositories will 
allow a Linspire user to install upgraded/new packages. 

But you raise valid points... why NOT just use Debian (or Libranet, or Suse, 
or Slackware, of Fedora Core, or ...)?
