You're not alone. I started with DOS 3.3 on an XT. Worked my way up
through Windows 95 or so before I got sick of the DOS CLI and started
looking for something more powerful. In addition, running Win95 on a
486/33 was out of the question. So I toyed with FreeBSD (powerful, but
*so* not newbie friendly) before working my way over to Linux. The
distros of the day mapped common DOS commands to their Linux equivalents
allowing me to function while I tried to figure out which way was up. I
started my administration work with NetWare 3.x and 4.x, Linux 2.2.x,
and NT4. I've kept up with Linux and Windows, but not much with
NetWare. I've also worked briefly with AIX, HP/UX, OS/2, Solaris and
Mac OS 7.x-10.x. Distro preferences: SuSE, RHE, or Fedora.
