I haven't used the new Debian installer tho I read lots of good reviews
of it. I was referring to the current "stable" installer. (That endless
list of questions it asks at the end of the install gives me a migrane.)

I would hardly consider 'ps ax' to be a proper way to determine what is
starting up at different runlevels. At best it's lots more difficult and
error prone than something like Red Hat's /sbin/chkconfig command. I'm
sure Debian has something equivalent but I dunno what it is yet.

And Ubuntu asked exactly *zero* questions about what I wanted installed.
So I don't know what I installed or what I might want to uninstall.

Thanks,
Michael
