Also pretty much a lurker. Demographics, hmmm, 40, married, no kids, two dogs. 
I'm not an expert, but I can get by reasonably well. Started with Linux/UNIX 
circa 1994 out of personal interest and frustration with MS, and later sys admin 
stuff here at work by the trial-by-fire process. (biologist/environmental 
specialist by trade).

SuSE 8.1, 8.2, 9.0 (work)
Solaris 8/Sparc (work, just starting to learn this)
RHFC2, SuSE 9.0, 9.1 (Home)
SGI IRIX 5.3, 6.5 (Home)
