scriptable webcam software ?

There is a link to videodog, which is quite scriptable. It has evolved
(as these things do) but is still, IIRC, command line.

Which webcam? Were you accessing it via v4l/2?

I have a nice Tcl interface (IMHO) to firewire digital cameras
(IEEE-1394). I am about to extend it to generic v4l2 devices as well,
which would include webcams. The controls are things like setting
exposure, gain (yuck) and the like. Maybe it will be ready in
January...
