no. that's the weird thing. logfile seems all tickety-boo. more i look 
at it, though, there ought to be more in the config file. but i do not 
know how to tell the thing what applies to the dvi output and what 
applies to the analog. according to the docs, when both are in use the 
dvi becomes 0 and the analog becomes 1, automagically. but i've tried 
all kinds of permutations, setting up whole separate sections for each; 
no joy.

there's a radeon manpage, and i suppose i'll spend a couple hours with 
it and doing a little creative writing on XF86Config; i think i have 
what ought to matter in there already, but apparently not.
