first, that's my question -- what's the trick for defining that side of 
things in xfree?

second, i know that xfree is and has been for some time involved in some 
kind of political dispute, sort of like the old kde/qt thing of last 
millennium. i wish all involved well, but i do not have time to join in 
the hollering. xfree is still under active development, best i can 
tell, and over time i've learned some -- though apparently not enough 
-- hacking of XF86Config. so around here, reinventing that particular 
wheel shall have to await another day.
