About six or seven years ago, my work place decided to move to the linux
platform to get out from under IBM with their OS/2 NetScape and DB2 thumb....
We briefly looked over the available databases at the time and settled on
MySQL. No real reason, other than it was the easiest to setup and import our
DB2 data...
All my own, personal database projects utilize mysql. It's been a real
performer, very reliable, etc, etc...
Postgresql is an excellent database engine, but, if it matters to you, it
doesn't have the "feel" of a business engine... At least that's what
management says... :')
Cheers.
