What you are describing is a form of phishing (or maybe just
dumb-baiting). Following from RedHat:

Red Hat has been made aware that emails are being circulated that
pretend to come from the Red Hat Security Team. These emails tell users
to download and install critical updates, however these updates are fake
and contain malicious trojan code designed to compromise the systems
they are run on.

Official errata messages from the Red Hat security team are never sent
unsolicited and are digitally signed by GPG. Red Hat updates are always
digitally signed to ensure their integrity. Red Hat Enterprise Linux
users should always use the Red Hat Network to obtain updates and
