Once again, some simple things like task dependencies are missing. It is
like a color printer that lacks red ink. Or a car without wheels. I
think task dependencies are a primary reason you would use such software
in the first place, Otherwise it is just a glorified spreadsheet. In
fact, one project management thing I found WAS in excel. With I guess
lots of VB somewhere. It actually did load in OpenOffice without
complaints. However, as it was an evaluation copy, I could not tell what
was not working and what was disabled. But it was quite busy.
As to this whole PM stuff here: new owners who do not grok the work flow
process here. So I want to spell it out. No surprises on either side. We
are finishing the release of a new product line. It was done as a 'spare
time' project in the company and has turned out nice. So we are getting
to grips on what is left to make it a complete ''official' product.
Seems my brain isn't a good enough place to store all this info. Sob.
