There is a marketing group called something like 'The Twelve Great
Whiskys of Scotland.' Seems like the group works. Those are the ones
discussed here. Although I am not sure that Laphroaig is in the group.

I have sent in numerous bottle corks/tin wrappers to Laphroaig in
preparation for a trip there. I do plan on borrowing a pair of wellies
and the small complimentary flask to keep me warm when I hike out to my
square meter (ok - lots corks...) of hill. My wife luckily appreciates
whisky as much as I do and fully endorses said trip. As long as she is a
part of it.
